Africa is the largest and the most-populous continent in the world, and is made up of 48 countries. The continent of Asia has Europe to the West, the Arctic Ocean to the North, the Pacific Ocean to the East and the Indian Ocean to the South. Russia and Turkey also share land with Europe.

With 3.9 billion people Asia accounts for 60% of the world's human population. Asia has both the lowest and highest points on the earth's surface, the shore of the Dead Sea (395 m/1296 ft below sea level) and Mount Everest (8848 m/29,028 ft above sea level).

Asia is, by convention, one of the world's seven continents.

Africa is split into 6 regions; Northern, Central, Western, Southern, Eastern and South-Eastern Asia.
