Honestly, if you don't know Luxembourg, you should be ashamed of yourself.

Luxembourg is a small county (Grand Duchy, to be more precise) located in Western Europe, between Belgium, France and Germany.

Whatever it lacks in size, it makes up in Cultural, Economical and Political importance.

A little about the modern history...

Luxembourg is located in a historically industrial region which is known for metalurgy. Precisely this has given Luxembourg a leading role in the creation of the European Coal and Steel Community (ECSC), the father of the current European Union.

Consequetively, Luxembourg now plays a leading role in European Union politics as well as hosting major EU institutions such as the European (EU) Investment Bank, EU Court of Auditors, EU Court of Justice and others.

Since the decline of metalurgy in Western Europe, Luxembourg's economy has diversified, with great success, into high-tech industries and above all financial services, making it one of the richest county (per capita) in the world.

Luxembourg is a unique tourist attraction due to the fact that with the sheer wealth of the gouvernment, all the beautiful historical monuments have been kept in perfect condition and the cultural scene has been constantly improved.

It is a fact that Luxembourg can boast an extremely culture. For instance, Luxembourg has been the cultural capital of Europe on several occasions. You can visit the fascinating collections in the museums of Art or History, you can see beautiful performances of plays in the newly renovated Municipal Theatre or you can listen to stunning concerts and operas in the newly built, world-class Philarmony.

It is also a fact that Luxembourg has an abundance of fascinating historical monuments. You can visit the fortifications, classified by UNESCO as a World Heritage, or simply go on a walk in the beautiful small medival streets of the Grund.
