"work work work..." HyperMKIV's Profile
but since i started travelling for work, i can't get enough. although i generally like travelling, when you have to do it all the time for work...it can really drain you. you miss home, you miss your friends, and well...it takes a toll on your social life. everyone keeps saying, doing it while you're young and do it while you can...but i don't think i'm in the "young" catergory anymore... >_<
well, anyway...the good thing about all this travelling for work is that i get to try new foods, see new things, and meet new people.
ok...first thing is...i really love to eat...i'm amazed i'm not like 300+ by now!!! but anyway, where ever i go, i try some local delicacies. i'm pretty open to whatever and that's what suprises most of the people i meet...i'll try almost anything once. i guess that's why i have a lot of food pics. =)
next thing is that i've made great friends all over the world !!!. sometimes i don't get to see some of the friends i've made very often, but when i do seem them again after a few years, it feels really good to see them again. it's weird cause it's not like the friends you have back home. they're special...they're those friends that live a totally different lifestyle from your own. they have different ways of doing almost everything...but yet you can communicate with them and relate to a lot of their experiences. it's a hard thing to explain...but when you make friends in different countries, you seem to realize that you're not the same person as you were before...and it's all because of meeting these new friends. i'm sure a lot of people who travel know what i'm talking about...but i've never realized this until i started writing this...people make me feel alive...meeting new people opens a whole new "world" for me. sound cliche huh??? but it's true...
hopefully all this makes sense...i'm not really proof reading this cause i'm on a break from work...waiting for some parts to arrive so i had some time to write some of this... =P
ANYWAY...now all i have to do is get over the whole "my social life sucks back home" thing... >_<
oh...i have loads to add so this is going to take some time...bear with me people...and thanks for visiting...
even though i moved away from hawaii almost 7 years ago (gee, ti's been that long???) i still consider it "home". i guess it's because i've moved around so much when i moved to california.
anyway, living in hawaii is so simple. you're pretty much stuck there unless you catch a plane out. while in singapore, i realize that it's a little easier having bridges that connect you to the mainland. plus, you're much closer to places. in hawaii, you have to fly at least 5 hours to get to the mainland.
the reason why i'm comparing hawaii to singapore is that i found so many similarities in the two places. anyway, if you ever have a chance to visit hawaii, please do so...we need the increase in economy... =)
when i'm actually back home, i try to find time to do some of the things i like. one of which is playing around with my bikes. while i was home last, i finally got around to putting on a lot of the parts i had waiting around. it's refreshing to work on something then stepping back and looking at the finished product...hopefully i can get back on the track again later this year...
my first passion was cars. i pretty much like a lot of different type of cars. when i travel, i like to see what kind of cars people drive...i've noticed that cars can be as different as people in different countries. i can't believe how certain cars can be so expensive in one country and be so cheap in another. i had a bunch of different ones and i was planning on keeping a few, but i ended up selling most of them due to the fact that i travel so much. it just didnt' make sense to keep them.
