Bikes, Blondes & Beer ...and a few Castles

View from Vor Frelsers Kirke
Other than Carlsberg, Lego and Kirsten and Lotta, two Danish exchange students I met back in high school. I really knew nothing about Copenhagen. I decided to come here to explore and check things out. Expand my horizons sorta speak.
Camera in hand, I set out each of the 8 days I had and just wandered around taking in the sights, sounds and experienced a little of Denmark. I met some great people, saw some fantastic sights. attended a Royal Wedding (check out my tavelogues) and discovered that I really like traveling around taking pictures!
near Central Station

Ride Sally ride!

One of the first things I noticed about Copenhagen (after all the blonde ponytails) was all the bikes!
Everyone here rides one and the bike lanes on the road are just as wide as the car lanes, Outside Central Station there were literally hundreds of bicycles locked up. Women in skirts and heels ride their bikes, Men wearing suits ride bikes. Young and old it doesn't matter. Ride on.
well trained??

Sunny, bright and clean.

Although I was in Copenhagen in May at the beginning ot the tourist season, there were a ton of people around. With that many people walking, eating and drinking I would have expected that the place would get a little messy or full of litter. I was wrong.
Maybe because of the Royal Wedding or maybe it's normal for Copenhagen but the place was always clean.
The streets always seemed to be swept clean and the squares. and parks always looked great too.
I'm not sure what it says, but I got the general idea from this little reminder in the park and it made me laugh my head off!

Pros:"Walking around the city with beer in hand!"
Cons:"Accidentally stepping into the bicycle lane...."
In A Nutshell:"There's nothing rotten in the state of Denmark!"
