With its vibrant history, colorful festivals, endlessly entertaining pubs and crowning castle, Edinburgh is one of the most fascinating cities in Europe. The shrill song of bagpipes rings out over Royal Mile, where visitors can buy any variation of plaid tartan or a family crest. The Edinburgh castle perches over Old Town, dominating the city skyline along with the spires of St. Giles Cathedral and the Walter Scott Monument. The cacophony of cheers and shouts resounding from local pubs and taverns fills the night air with wonder and excitement.
I have had the privilege of visiting this marvelous city twice, once in 2000 and again in 2004, and both times this city has captivated me with its charm. Walking down its cobblestone streets in a drizzling rain with “Scotland the Brave” playing faintly in the distance is an experience not to be missed.
- Pros:Fascinating History and Culture
- Cons:Rain

Great shots of the city. Looking forward to your descriptions. Safe travels from travelling Canadians!
That's quite a bit of sun in your Castle shot here, seriously! Btw, Flag? Who knew. I lived & worked at the Canyon years ago, coming down to Flag for shopping & a movie was big time, I tell you. Small world.
Awesome pic! Looking forward to your tips.
