..... lies ELVERUM, where I lived for 6 years.

Elverum is a small town in the county of Hedmark. Hedmark is one of the only 2 counties in Norway (total of 19 counties) that doesn't have a coastline. But Glomma, the longest river in Norway (about 600 km long) runs through the town.

Elverum municipality covers 1,229 km2 and has about 19 260 inhabitants (2007).

What to do.....

Rally at Starmoen

Starmoen Leisure Park, 5 kms east of Elverum, was laid out over 2,250 acres of land bared by an extensive forest fire in 1976. The area contains a golf course, an airport, gliding centre, circuits for car, motorbike and go-cart racing, a trotting track, and a cafeteria.

The Norwegian Forestry Museum is a national museum for hunting, fishing, forest and forestry. The museum was founded in 1954 and is celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2004. Every year approximately 110,000 people visit the museum. It is amongst the largest museums in Norway. The Norwegian Forestry Museum was elected the Museum of the Year in Norway in 2002.
