A small capital city with lots of charm. In the winter, try some skiing,skating or hot Sauna followed by rolling in the snow naked!! In the summer opt for the harbour side of town with outside restaurants and bars. You can take a boat from the City Hall to some of the beaches just outside Oslo. Bring along some fresh food and wine/beer for a picknique! Do not forget to try the Scandinavian liquor Aquavit,an ice cold shot, be aware its strong!!!
Oslo by Night:
Area: Bogstadveien. Lots of shops,restaurants and bars. Young,hip and trendy.
Area: Grunerløkka. Bohemian place with restaurants,bars and parks.
Area: Aker Brygge. Best in the summer,lots of tourists,boats,shops,cinema and more restaurants.

Norwegian people usually have "Pre-Drinks" at someones house before going out,due to high prices on alcoholic beverages in bars. So,try to hook up with some locals early on.

Nodee: Lovely Sushi and Chinese cuisine.
Alex Sushi: Expensive,trendy and fantastic,innovative food.
Yaja's Thai Beach Bungalow: Cheap and cheerful.Nice thai food.
Clodion Art Cafe: Always crowded,cosy, serving burgers and salads etc..
ODEON: Restaurant & Bar. Blondes meeting stock brokers,wannabes,celebrities etc..
NEON: Small and packed nightclub with longe/disco music.Dress code,strict door policy.
NOBILIS: A bit more relaxed,small bar,disco music and good cocktails.

Meanwhile,on the other side of town.....................MACUNDO: 70s music,disco,feel good factor,Next to ARAKATAKA restaurant,serving gourmet food for good value!!
