Hong Kong is probably my favorite city on earth.
Every time I'm away from it for a couple of years and traveling to other places, I think I might like some of those cities better. Then, I end up back in HK only to fall in love all over again.
Why do I love it so?
If I had to sum it up in one word I would have to say "LIFE" - HK is a city that is very much alive. You would swear it has a pulse of it's own, a beating heart, and lungs filled with air. There's never a dull moment in this town.
I also love the juxtaposition of old and new. Only here do high-tech skyscrapers and cutting edge transportation systems contrast (and compliment) so well with ancient philosophies and back street butchers carving up dinner right on the sidewalk.
It's an amazing place. |
