Capital of Europe -- When It Comes To Flowers

Where The Keukenhof Is Located

Keukenhof Windmill, early April
The name "Lisse" will probably sound quite unfamiliar to you. How about "Keukenhof" -- "Oh you mean that famous Dutch flower garden where all those tulips and bulbs are on display!?!!" -- Exactly: Lisse is the town where the Keukenhof is located. It is situated some 20 kilometers south-west of Amsterdam, not far from the famous North Sea resort of Nordwijk aan Zee.
Flower fields around Lisse

Is Visiting the Keukenhof Really Necessary

This is not a rhetorical question at all. I found the large carpets of flowers around Lisse much more interesting than the Keukenhof itself. Of course, you have a landscaped garden, you have exhibition pavillions where rare and special breeds are on display. But walking through the fields is totally free. There are many lovely walks along the numerous waterways. Think about it! As it was still very early in the year, the picture can only give you a hint of how the landscape must look like when the fields are in full bloom.
Noordwijk Strand Promenade

The Coast Is Near!

Visitors to Lisse and the Keukenhof should not forget paying a visit to the beach. Noordwijk, one of the most famous Dutch coastal resorts, is only 10 km away.

Looks nice, I'm heading there despite the crowds! I'll actually be in Belgium also for a time but I'm not sure where your home town is.

Yeah, I think that the 2,800,000 square kilometers that makes Argentina occupy the eighth place in the world should be long enough to not cross path with a tall guy with big glasses cursing all the time!!! hahaha
