I stay at Asia Hotel with my mum during Aug 03. The fact that the hotel is directly in front of BTS is really a plus point. I used BTS frequently to MBK, chatuchak..etc which is very convenient for us as we need not spend time bargaining with taxis drivers or tuk tuk... plus there is no traffic jam. Room is basically comfortable and ok for us since we dun spend much time in the hotel. But the reception staff at the safe deposit and money changer counter showed some attitude which annoyed me. ( perhaps im just unlucky.) nevertheless, it is a good hotel and it is cheap too!
Unique Qualities: The SIam house restaurant beside the hotel is rude. The food is not so nice and they have an attitude which is very slow and they treat locals and foreigners differently! there is also a price discrimination even though they have menu. But the WAntan Mee stall next to the hotel which is directly in front the 7 eleven is great. The food is very very nice...guarantee!! only cost around 20- 25 thb per bowl. should try it.

We booked a Family Suite at Suk 11, it cost us 1200baht (4 person) a night which is considered cheap. Its a Cozy hostel which make you forget that you are actually in a busy street in Bangkok. The toilets are clean with hot showers, clean bedsheets, cold air condition. So basically, Im glad to stay in this hostel. Just outside the Hostel, its a food haven if you dare to try street food. The vendors look clean to me selling Yummy Sweetcorn, BBQ food and in the afternoon, there is a Van parked outside the Hostel...selling noodles soup!. GOTTA TRY THE NOODLE SOUP, you will love it...even my friends who is not used to eating street food LOVE IT.. RATING FOR THIS NOODLE SOUP VAN is 10/10. At night, if you cant sleep, you can sit and hang around the street near Hostel. Night Street vendor selling Steamboat Tom Yum which cost around 150baht.. wont said that it taste very nice but for the atmosphere of just chiling out...its Great!! Overall, I love this hostel...because of the Location and surroundings..
Unique Qualities: Tell taxis driver---Nana Station Soi 11 Oh ya...there seem to be a wireless network in this hostel...So if you are a net savy person, you can bring your laptop along with you :) If not, just across the hostel, there is a internet cafe which offer cheap net rates.

This is my Grandmother and Mom favorite hotel. Ever since the first time they stayed there, they loved it so much that now this is the ONLY hotel they would stay everytime they visit Bangkok. ( My Grandma and Mom visit Bangkok at least twice a year :P) The location of this hotel is in the heart of Chinatown, a food paradise at night and a busy wholesaler market in the morning. It is near Khao San Road and Chao Phyra River if you wanna explore around . Even though this place is not near any BTS station, the traffic jams in Bangkok had already improved. And if you are travelling with more than 2 persons, it is actually cheaper and more comfortable to take taxis in Bangkok. We usually booked this hotel through our local travel agents, we paid around 1600baht for a corner standard room. I think the price is reasonable. I have no complaints for this hotel myself even though i have stayed there for at least 3 times. The room are always clean, tidy and spacious.
Unique Qualities: Maybe what makes this hotel special is they are able to maintained the high standard service and tidyness. Its value for money :))
