I was staying in Jordan for 2 months and 10 days. As I got to live in my friend's apartment. I didnt really have any plans before I went there, other than I wanted to see the Middle East Championship, which is an arabian horse show. Else just relax, and maybe see some of the country...
I was amazed when I came to Amman. From what I had seen on tv Iwould have expected a older looking city, and people to be poor, but as we drove through, I got another picture. Along the way there were nice buildings and huge house, and most of the cars were new, and actually expensive cars in Europe. Everyone was nice and helpful, and it made me feel at home from the minute I arrived.
As a 21 year old, blonde girl travelling all alone to the Middle East, some people thought I was strange lol but that it was cool that I did something like that. All I could tell them was that I did it because I LOVE the middle east, above any other place on this earth!
Well I ended up seeing alot of the country of course, going with my great friends here. The landscape is just amazing, and the nature is changing all the time... Go to the south and you will find the desert like Wadi Rum! and the north where there is mountains...
I really cant express with words how much I love this great country and it's people! I hope that one day I will be able to go back and meet the friends I made there, again |
| Prince Rashid in the front |
| | Meeting Prince Rashid Bin Al Hassan Some of the best experiences was definatly to get the chance to meet some of the Royal family in Jordan.
One of my friends, the guy which apartment I was staying in, went to school with Prince Rashid, who is the son of Prince Hassan (former Crown prince of Jordan), and is one of his best friends. So we went to the Royal Palaces in Amman to watch his stables and a Polo match. Prince Rashid is the Captain for the Jordanian Polo Team...
Just to get to the stables we had to go through 3 check points, one of them we had to leave our ID. They even let us go through the main entrance usually ONLY the Royal family and the closest friends are allowed to drive through :D
I tell you! This guy is so nice! not to mention good looking lol You dont feel that he is a prince. He was friendly, and treated everyone with the greatest respect. The only thing that made him different from the rest of us, was that he was surrounded by soldiers when he went outside the Palaces. Btw he is driving a nice black Audi :P
After the game, we went to get some tea, and to talk. He showed us around the stables, and showed us the horses. A nice experience that I guess not alot of people that goes to Jordan gets... |
| Princess Alia at the Middle East Championship |
| | Meeting Princess Alia and Princess Zein Rashid was not the only Royal person I meet there. Since both Princess Alia and Zein is into arabian horses, I had to bump into them somewhere.
One of the days after the Middle East Championship, a few horse lovers from outside Jordan was invited to a stud presentation at the Royal Jaafar Stud, which is owned by Mr Majdi Al Saleh and Princess Zein Bint Al Hussein. and of course Princess Alia was there too :)
So we went to say hi to them, and chat about horses. After the presentation we were shown around the stables.
Both Alia and Zein is nice horse loving people, ALWAYS smiling!! and is always ready to help people. I had contacted Alia on email before I came to Jordan, with some questions about the show, and she was right there to help :)
Yup the Royal Jordanian family consist only of great friendly people. Next time I have to meet King Adullah, it's a MUST :D |
