"Latest Tech vs Old Habits" China by anoum
China Travel Guide: 29,456 reviews and 82,851 photos
It is the people that stands out the most when I think back about the 3-week trip my daughter and I made to China recently. The locals were usually very helpful and kind whenever they found out we were 'huaqiao' or 'overseas Chinese'. They patiently repeated directions or explanations when we had trouble understanding. They gave us helpful tips and when we frequented the shops locals went to, we were never overcharged or cheated.
There are so many types of food to try in China that I wished I had more stomach compartments and bigger ones too.
Although we spent 3 weeks in Shanghai, Xian, Nanjing, Hangzhou, Huangshan and Xitang, we found we actually had to forgo visiting many places within these named cities/towns.
- Pros:Friendly, helpful people
- Cons:The throat-clearing coughs and spitums
- In a nutshell:High Tech vs Old Habits

That is great News about the Visa. :) Too bad you do not live in KL, you could have saved Ringgit50 by going to the embassy without using a travel agent.
