We saw two people robbed near the Eiffel Tower. Watch out for the people selling mini-Eiffel Towers or little airplanes. They swarm you and then rob you. Then they pass the stolen items on to other people who run away with them. There are also girls who come up to you with postcards and ask if you speak English so that they can distract you and rob you. Make sure that your belongings are in front of you (wear backpacks in the front), etc. It's harder to steal from the front then the side or back.
