Madonna sang about San Pedro sometime in the 80's and she said "I fell in love with San Pedro". I can see why. It was one of the most fun and relaxing trips I've ever been on.
We opted to head over to Ambergris Caye instead of staying on the Belize mainland. We took the short plane ride over which I thought was worth the extra money. During one of our tours we went to the mainland via boat and it was a very choppy 45 minutes. Couldn't imagine if I had luggage and was wearing the clothes I had worn on the plane.
Ambergris Caye is an island with little to no automobiles (they use golf carts to get everywhere) and just about everything you could want. The beaches aren't really much to speak of but most people head there for the diving. |
