Some rooms are a bit small;
When you ask for a 3 bed room on the Ramblassite you are very lucky. A nice view, sun on the balcony, enough space an kept clean well. Staff speaks more ore less English an can give tourist information. It was quiet easy to make a revervation for this room with a telehone call and an e mail in half Englisch half Spanish.

Unique Qualities: On the upper site of the Ramblas.
We have been there about 5 times. Prices increase, but not much more than the inflation obliges.
Double room 56 euro and triple room 71 euro.

LOCATION/PRICE
We found this hotel by accident when walking through the turbulant Calle de Escedullers (hookers, chickenrestaurant, art gallerys, market). We went in en heard the price was about 5000 ptas (30 euro) for a double room. This was in 1996. In e few years the price was risen to 8000 ptas. Situation now: prices can be found from 80 - 103 euro for a doubleroom. This is more then 11.000 ptas ! So inflation has done her work. This is the reason whe choose another hotel (Toledano) end 2002. Not because its was better, but because this hotel didnt make a profit of the Barcelona tourist boom and the euro introduction.
Beware: some internetbookers mention a price which is 20-30 % higher then the normal hotelprice. So you are advised to call the hotel and ask for the rates.

HOTEL/ROOMS
It's a very basic, but well organised and clean hotel. The color TV, airco and bathroom are OK as wel as the beds. The heating is sufficient and the double window keeps away the streetnoise.

When you go to the right you are in 70 meters on the Placa Reial; to the left you reach the heart of the Bairro Gotico and 100 meter forward you will reach The Ramblas.
