Getting TO/AROUND: How to reach Venice ? The easiest way is by train; you arrive at the north side Canareggio which is a lively, authentic and nice part of Venice (a lot of tourist altough), with more or less cheap hotels. When you arrive by plane, you can take a bus (about 5-8 euro) or a taxi (about 25-30). You arrive at a big parking place and from here you have to walk (alo over over bridges) or take a boat. So if you have the chance...the best way is to bring luggage and family to the Mestre train station (5 km north) look for a safe and cheap parkingplace in Mestre and take a train, which departs every 10-15 minutes...
