The hotel was a pleasant place to stay in Amsterdam. The lobby was smallish for such a big hotel but our room was a surprise. While not as big as American standard-issue rooms, they are quite big for European standards, tastefully decorated and furnished with everything you'd expect from a 5-star hotel. The staff were friendly and the hotel even has a laundry room for guests where they can wash/dry their clothes.
The location is unbeatable. Just across the street you'll find Leidseplein which are lined with numerous shops, restaurants, cafes, pubs/bars, and also Lido Cabaret and Holland Casino. Beyond Leidseplein you'll find the shopping street of Kalverstraat leading all the way up to Damrak. Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh Museum is also a stone's throw from the hotel. There's also a boarding point for Amsterdam's Canal tours right in front of the hotel and a nice park to take a stroll in.
All in all, this hotel was a pleasant base for our adventure in Amsterdam and I would not hesitate to stay in this hotel again.
Unique Qualities: Nice location near shopping, food, entertainment, museum and canal tour.
