Pisco is an important port 235 km south of Lima. The area is also of historical and archaeological interest, having hosted one of the most higly develop pre-inca civilizations: the Paracas culture and later acting as a base for the revolutionary fever of the 1800s. This is a great spot from where you can visit the abundant wildlife of the nearby Islas Ballestas and Reserva Nacional de Paracas.
