Wat Chaiwatthanaram
Ayutthaya remained as a capital of Thailand for 417 yrs and has been registered as a world heritage by the World Heritage Commite (UNESCO).
Lord Buddha`s head

A royal monastery

Here was the seat of the Sangaraja - the head of the Buddhist monks of the Kamavasi Sect.
Wat Mahathat used to house an unusual Buddha image made of green stone in the form of Buddha seated on a throne.
Wat Rachaburan

With Khmer-type tower inside

Another old heritage of A.D.King Intharachathirat which passed away in 1424.This include fine Arts Department with stairway and a lot of Buddha images.
