The city of Kiev, the capital of Ukraine, is located in the north central part of the country. The city is located on hills overlooking the Dnipro River. The city is beautifully scenic with amazing architectural buildings. Despite the fact that many buildings were destroyed during WWII, much still remains intact.
I spent 3 days in Kiev to break up my journey back from India. What I discovered was a magnificent city with great history and culture as well as strong religious ties. There are 32 museums, 33 theaters, and a vast amount of churches and monasteries to see. The time I had to spend in Kiev was definitely not enough to fully appreciate what this city had to offer. |
