Amritsar, located in the state of Punjab, literally means a pool of Nectar.

This cities claim to fame is the GOLDEN TEMPLE, the most holiest and most sacred place for those of the Sikh religion. The magnifecence and spiritualtiy of this great place is felt by all. The Golden Temple is defintiely a place I could visit over and over, being that I am of the Sikh faith. I believe that even if you are not a Sikh you will equally enjoy and be fascinated by the temple.

Amritsar also happens to be my place of birth. I'm very honored that I was born in such a holy and spiritual city. Although I was only in Amritsar for a few months before immigrating to the United States, I do feel a special connection to this city.

Amritsar is also known for its great food. While there, make sure you check out some of the great local eateries. I recommend Brothers (listed in my restaurant tips section).
