Barga Travel Guide: 23 reviews and 66 photos

I've been living in Barga 20 years, more or less. Now I'm continously travelling around the world but as soon as I can I come back to see relatives and friends and to feel again the easiness and the tranquillity of the place. Compared to chaotic cities is like a jump in the past... a medieval centre, a good infrastructure, good food... how could I forget ?

Fun & food

Barga lives its best time in summer... festivals, theatre, sports and food are the guidance for the tourists. Different period of the year, anyhow, means different food exoeriences. In autumn, chestnut's king, while in winter's mushrooms. Holy festivities include special food made for the occasion and in any case it's a delicatessen for the mouth...
If you have sportive preferences, instead, hiking and biking is a sport to go for in Barga. Wonderful landascapes, get to 2000 m on the sea with your bike and go down the steep trails, waving the wildboars ! Relax then in the pool, or take a cold wine at the Casciani... you'll learn fast !
