University of Milano - Bicocca

The University of Milano - Bicocca is located in an area called Bicocca, on the northern outskirts of Milan. The University is on what was once the industrial site of the Pirelli tire company.

This new university was founded in 1998 as a spin-off from the older University of Milan ("Statale") and the Politecnico of Milan.

It describes itself as "a young, dynamic and multidisciplinary university" -- and the university website has a Chinese version, so you can tell they aren't just messing around.

The Bicocca campus includes a European Mobility Center, which provides information and personalized assistance to people who are moving to another country for research or study activities.

Part of the Bicocca University campus is right across the street from the new theater Teatro degli Archimboldi.

Piccolo Teatro Strehler

This famous theater company was founded in 1947 by Paolo Grassi and Giorgio Strehler.

Though it is called a "little" theatre company it has gradually become an international organization with activities all over the world, although it is still based in Milan. It is well-known for its performances of both Italian and foreign plays.
