As anticipated traffic was moping along 95 headed north. Even with an early departure tires made slow rotations throughout Connecticut. Millions of New Yorkers were fleeing just the same. Our periscopes spotted the Rhode Island state line just over the horizen. Continuing forward we navigated straight to Easton beach to try and find sleeping arrangements. We were directed to Burligame State Park for camping along with a couple hundred others. Check in lines were boiling over. Luckily space was still available to drive our tent stakes into the soil. Night's silence and bug chirps toiling found a new challenger, the neighbors. Throughout the night partying, yelling, Spanish tunes, and bright lights littered our site making for a hard to get sleep.

Waking, drinking coffee, and no showering spit us to the far reaches of the Cliff Walk. Here we strolled oceans edge, and got our first introduction of the current state of the coast heading north. The shoreline was new to me, rock instead of sand, pretty for the eyes but hell for the swimmer. We continued the walk till we reached The Breakers, summer home of Vanderbilt's, and did the tour thing of the mansion, but only after coughing up 15 dollars a ticket.
