So the white man came stole their land, destroyed their homes and forced them onto little plots of land, and none of this is portrayed there. The museum wasn't at all comprehensive of the struggle had in the United States but rather focuses on one specific aspect of Indian culture in the Americas whether it be South or North America. Its not all that big but its free and the visit is more about the interior of the building than collecting knowledge. You will get more knowledge of the American Indian finding a red sand stone on a beach while smoking the peacepipe. Only go here if you want to see a great feat in architecture.

For the Centennial of Washington's inauguration as President of the United States a wooden Memorial Arch was constructed on the Washington Square. The arch, designed by Stanford White was so successful at the celebrations, that a marble version was commissioned. In may 1895 the final version of the 77 ft Washington Arch was inaugurated. The sculptures of Washington as general and president were designed in 1916 and 1918.
The Gateway is at the base of 5th avenue and traffic actually use to go through it until 1971. Washington Square park is bounded by Waverly Place, 4th street, University Place and MacDougal Street. The Washington Arch is located at 5th Avenue and Waverly place.
The park also has a fountain as its core and there is a lot of local activity in this space such as people putting on performances and whatnot.

It seems that I make it here whenever a visitor comes to town, and only than do I get to play tourist in my home city. Yuki's mother is vivsiting from Japan so as most who come she wanted to get the new perspective from above. After playing MOUSETRAP throughout the first and second floor, byway of a velvet roped maze we came to the booth that will take 42 dollars for the three of us. Elevating to the top, well the 86th floor, we departed and spilled in sucession onto the observation deck. All sides were lined with gawkers pasted staring out into the hazy horizen. I approached the intimidating black iron fences to fit my head through to look down. A refreshing feeling of amazement never went sour. For all the years I called this place home, the feeling of a new renewal overcame me. The breathing city, letting off a hum beneath looked much like at one point it was one large conglamerate stone that now had this carved from it. The sheer amazement that man has built all that lay out there, anti-environmentalist in a sense but yet overbearing in its craft and snkill that came from millions of hard-working hands. I am a nature person, a man who loves all this untouched, but the molestation of these woods some two-hundred years ago at least amounted to one awe-aspiring feat. This view will never get old, a timeless scene that everyone in this world needs to experience at least once, even if you live here in NYC .I

Everyday during lunch if the weather permits I unsheath my upper half and let it see the sun while laying in the grass. The skin darkens as various views are surrounding me. The park is really well manicured, and the grass patches are lush, and make for great napping conditions. Theres a new food stand there called the Shake Shack which is made famous by the Danny Meyer restauranteer.
