Manhattan, New York City, NYC

One frigging huge city

I work here, some days I love it, some days I hate it. Some days are sticky and humid and some days are ice cold. Some commutes are sardine can style and some commutes are Club Med. The ups and downs are what keeps this place thriving. The CITY as we call it is home. I grew up in LI so the city was always there. I moved here and lived on 27th street in 1996 and haven't left the confines since except for my "FED UP " rant where I hightailed it to Japan and elsewhere. But the centrifugal force brought me back and here I am today back in the city. I live in Brooklyn but take the subway in everymorning and head to the Toy Building on 23rd street. That Flatiron building is right outside my winda, so I get a different perspective than all those tourist holding their cameras three feet away, the world of digital.

The melting pot.

New York is so called rightfully. I haven't been to a country or state or city that has had as much as New York has to offer. You can go to a specific nationalities community and really see a slice of how living may be in their motherland. We're not talking Epcot Center and its contrived environments of the world, we're talking Greecian Grandmas walking the streets holding candle's for Greek Easter, or a Japanese Festival in front of the Japan Society much like the ones back home. I can buy a authentic Italian Brunch in the morning, have a gallon of Jasmin Tea, buy a Korean Funeral Paper Suit, A Hisidic Fur Tire Hat, and 4 Knish's all before dinner, than eat with my hands in a Ethiopian Restaurant, than to cap the night off head to Steinway and smoke a Hookah with traditional tobaccos inported from Egypt. Tell me if your city has that much to offer, it might be an option to move to if so. There's culture pouring out of every crevass, but I'm not by any means saying theres not a need to get off this group of Islands, I am just glad I can call NY home along with 8 million other faces from every country in this world.

If coming to NYC...

If your coming to NYC and have any questions about outer bouroughs or Manhattan don't hesitate to email me, also if your looking to meet a local to get an insiders look, or to get a brewski.
