Zion National Park has always been the leading position on my National Parks already visited list, with Yosemite, Fire Island and Mesa Verde somewhere in the top four. Acadia has moved in there and taken up residence on the number two spot, and done so easily. Its features can be compared to many of the nations other great landscapes, but combined form one of the most unique pieces of New England. The frigid oceans constantly pound away at the sheer cliffs of Mt. Desert Island giving the coastline rough sculpted, red tinted rock. Fog seems everpresent, but only enhances the seamens feel, with foghorn moans cutting its thickness. Views abound lye atop Cadillac Mountain stretching to walls of fog in every direction. |

| | Seeing Acadia National Park can be done on foot, tires or all fours. Climbing the Precipce Trail puts all body parts to use, the park loop road rotates those tires and most of the parks sights excercise your soles. This place is eden! |
| | Republican elephants came stomping into NYC so Yukijohn became Republican National Convention Refuges and headed north to the founding lands of this nation. Acadia was the final destination that the rental car had to cart the two of us with stops at both Cape Cod National Seashore and Newport, Rhode Island. With Terrorism Threat Color Scales behind us we hopscotched up the coastline landing on Mt. Desert Island, following is the story of how it built up like a zit, turned red and popped..... Kazanders Acadia Page set me on the right foot. |
