"Shnitzel and Sausage" Germany by chodearm

In late April 2004 through early May 2004 I embarked on a mission to see as much as I could see on the Romantische Strasse which bi-sects Bavaria in southern Germany. The route headed by Wurzburg continues south along rustic open vistas and small Mideval towns. The route ends with a grand finale of the Royal castles of King Ludwig ll, and the quaint town of Fussen.

My lady, Yuki, always had a dream to criss cross Germany, and naturally we thought the train would be the right way to go. After much research we reached the conclusion that renting a car was more efficient to find small towns, and off the beaten path side roads. This now limted us to a specific area of Germany. Bavaria was our area of choice with a little added trip to the Rhine river valley.

We stayed in a castle or burg in Kaub, overlooking the Rhine River, set on a hill outfitted with vineyards. Yukis dreams were coming true and I was developing a love for a country just newly introduced too. After our little retreat from the Romantishce Strasse the real journey begun.

Bavarian Memories-
Enormous Pretzels, huge tasty beers, Cuckoo clocks from the Black Forest, the Autobahn, Rothenberg ob der Tauber, yellow flower fields, Ludwig I and II, The Alps, Wies Kirche, and the friendliest peple.
