Off The Beaten Path: Outside the fortifications

Once outside the fortifications of the old city, there is a return to modern world Germany suburbia. Yukijohn walked into the depths in search of the Night watchmens suggested BEER Garden where-abouts. Peering down paths and streets we did find ourselves searching for the right direction. I sometimes get the manly, "I will figure it out" type attitude when at a loss of definite direction, but in these streets shyness played no part. First passerby came to a halt at my request, with not a clue about what I was speaking. A few steps forward we came to two teens taxi-ing along on one bicycle. Stopping their balancing act to question, I asked, " Where da BEER GARDEN AT?, hoping for an excitement to be hearing some NY accent.
The two go on yelling NO! NO! NO! repeditively as they speed off. In these suburban ways I got to feel a rudeness I missed, and hadn't seen since JFK Airport.
