Anneliese Friese: Buying a Cuckoo Clock

Name of Shop: Anneliese Friese
Mission number one when it came to shopping was to get ourselves an authentic Cuckoo Clock since we were quite close to the black forest. An ovject of this nature would be a constant reminder with every "koo-koo" of the bird. The selection process was quite hard in that I didn't know what I was exactly looking for. The owners of the store were very helpful, all spoke fluent english and thouroughly explained the different styles. We ended up with a classic HUNTER STYLE. Since most people purchasing are tourist's, they will ship to your home so you don't have to hand carry this fragile piece.
What To Buy: Cuckoo Clocks and Beer Steins
What To Pay: For the clock 200$ plus....

Our first day Yuki and I walked into this store to find a map of the town. The woman kindly handed us one from behind the counter. We were on the Cuckoo Clock hunt on day two and ended up back in the same confines. Upon entering, the woman came over to us and sat staring at Yuki as our eyes were pasted on the swinging pendulums of the clocks.
"You a beauty" the woman said, as she stood lock eyed on Yuki. "You were here yesterday" she finished.
With all the people that must drop in she remembered us. She was so sweet. She autographed a map and gave it to us and than gave us a replica of our clock in the magnet form (pictured) to, as she put it, "show your friends".

nicolaitan Fri Dec 21, 2007 02:17 UTC schneeballs - strips of shoe leather tenderized and covered with most anything to mask the leaden sensation in one's stomach following ingestion. N. | nixca316 Thu Mar 1, 2007 06:04 UTC Interesting tip about the chocoballs =) Take care! | vigi Sat Dec 16, 2006 03:02 UTC whew is my headsize beer man! I friggin love beer. As a child a sip would make me sleep. Daddy would let me take a sip of his red wine and the taste made me shout "I want more, one glass" This will be overturned to my mothers dismay. | pipsqueak Mon Oct 9, 2006 16:36 UTC I believe they are called, "schneeballs". |
