Arromanches-les-Bains Travel Guide: 25 reviews and 98 photos
To see the D-Day and the Battle of Normandy, one needs about three days visit to Arromanches. I drove all the way from Paris during the easter period first Rennes, where I based and then to the town and beaches that have history of the D-Day.
This is the muse du embarquement in Arromanches, for students of history, all you need to know about the Normandy landing is here.
Far in the sea in this picture is actually the reminants of the pre fabricated harbours. Pending the restauration of the ports in the area of the landing notably Cherbourg, Le Havre, and Rouen...the creation of artificial roads, and the placement of prefabricated quays and harbours was undertaken the day following the D-Day.

Ive done my own driving Normandy and DDay tour - fantastic - and it was Arromanches that really opened my eyes and impressed me what a feat DDay was!Glad you got there too.
so you know the place where I spend most of my sunny warmy days! Arromanches is a lovely sandy beach: there you can meditate on past, present and future, or just walk, bathe, breathe, enjoy the seaside...
