On The Doorstep Of The World....

by fifitrix72 - last update: Apr 22, 2004

Sunset in Byron Bay Australia

Too Many Places.... Too little Time

I am beginning to think that when it comes to travelling ... I am hooked !! Its a bit like a drug - the more you do ... the more you want.

When I tell people I am going away ... their response is always "What AGAIN ?" But from my point of view thats why I work to pay for my fix !!

This is what ciggarettes is to some and shoes are too another ... this is my addiction ... and I love it !! If you are reading these pages you obviously enjoy travel just as much as me ... so here is to the next trip .... or 3 !!!
My Stop On The Underground

The Melting Pot Where I Live .....

Shepherds Bush in West London a busy, cosmopolitan and thriving West London suberb - close enough to the city and far away enough to feel like you are out of town !

Its is famous for the BBC, for The Empire Music House and Shepherds Bush Market...one of the best in London...oh and once upon a time - QPR FC!!!!!!

One thing you will not hear alot of in Shepherds Bush anymore is the good old "West London lingo" Shepherds Bush is now home to the most cosmopolitan mix of people you will hope to find anywhere in London. Croatian, Irish, Saffas, West Indian, Bengali, Arab, Polish, Aussies, Caribean, Americans etc etc etc....

And thats probably why I like living here so much ...because by the time I have got to the tube station in the morning I feel like I have been half way around the world already !!!
One Of My Favourite Places - Sirolo, Italy

The Good...The Bad...And The Ugly

All the places I have been have been an experience in some way or other..but I suppose like everyone there are some places that stick in your mind for good or bad reasons, so here are mine....

The Good....

Singapore... After spending a month in China ... the warmth was wonderful (as well as the food!!)

Sirolo, Le Marche..... Traditional Italian Village in an unspoilt part of Italy...not easy to find these days - when Italy is Europes No 1 destination.

Tokyo... For its speed, high tech and lovely people

The Bad....

Paris.... For being hit in the face by a beggar asking for money...Paris isnt the same place I went to 7 years ago ...shame.

Tangier.... One of the only places I think I have felt threatened, when I was there we were constantly hassled to buy drugs...hopefully thats now changed!!

Tokyo...The Fish Market... Whilst a wonderful experience - sushi for breakfast didnt go down well...literally !!!

The Ugly

Xian..... Words fail me !!

Phuket... Call me shy...but old english bald men trying to seduce 10 year old girls doesnt do it for me !!!

So after 19 years travelling, thats just a few..I am sure i could come up with a few more if i tried harder (a bit like my school report used to say !!!!)
