A Big Boy in a Small World

by MagicMixer - last update: Apr 15, 2004

The reason for living

When young, I THOUGHT the reason for living really was travelling around the globe.
Now, when I am old and wise, I KNOW it is not.
I am still a keen traveller , but nothing can beat having a family.
Meet my two pearls, Athina ( the mother of Josh, the golden boy ) and Clara.
Two daughters and a grandson

More reasons

I found my wife abroad ( or she found me ...?!? ) and here she is with our grandson feeding the birds in Hyde Park , London.
Both my daughters lived there for some years and we went there and back many times from Sweden.
( Thank You Ryan-Air ) This is NOT an advert , it just wouldnt have been possible without them :-)
Wife and grandson

A 16-year old reason

Meet another member of our family, the 16 year old "Silky Terrier" named...........yes MAGIC MIXER !
He is a real comfort now when our daughters are far away.
Actually both in New Zealand . One living there with husband and son and the younger one visiting for a year or so.
Imagine, from Sweden you cant reach further than New Zealand without returning again :-)
Magic Mixer , happy as a dog

World Cup Soccer in France 1998

As my wife had to work all summer I started early planning something to do because I am a teacher and we hardly work at all :-)
I got me 7 tickets for football in France and went there.....by bike, no motor involved, just pedals.
About 1000 km one way took me almost 10 hardworking days. Unfortunately my bike was stolen on my way back ( In Belgium ) so I had to reurn from there by bus and train.
My friends still say I left the bike unlocked .......BUT that is certainly untrue:-)
PS ! If you find a blue Swedish bike in Brussels , please let me know.
I look fine in yellow and green

Europeen Swimming in Berlin 2002

Off I went again , wife still working,
to Berlin in August this time.
Incredible hot for one week
( 34-38 C), but the Germans can still produce some great beer , I can asure you.
No biking this time , but bus all the way.
Meet the Swedish national team, you will see many of them on the podium in Athens summer 2004 :-)
Swedish Swimmers

France with family June 2002

When we first got the news of my daughter´s plans of moving to New Zealand with her husband and son to live there ,we were indeed shocked.
After calming down a little we planned to meet them , with our younger daughter, in Bretagne in North France.
So I rented a beautiful summer-house and we went by car from Sweden and they by ferry from England.
This week has become the sweetest memory of our family together, just relaxing and enjoying the French summer.
See you next time in Auckland, New Zealand guys ;-)
Why not meet my daughters family, the Coupers on their site :
