Studio 54: Not really worth the wait

Nightlife Spot: Studio 54
Studio 54 is inside the MGM Grand ... which makes it a very convenient club if you're staying in the hotel. The wait to get in was long ... but at least you could gamble while waiting in line. The bouncers were not amused if people tried to cut in line. Once inside it seemed small and cramp (maybe I was expecting something bigger) with lots of sticky stuff on the floor. It's hard to dance when you're constantly sticking to the floor. Drinks and cover charge were the usual for Las Vegas (overpriced)

Nightlife Spot: Seven
I had the club experience in Las Vegas at the Seven club. We got there early and were able to snag one of the very hip looking booths near the dance floor. The dance floor was pumping and the DJ played a mix of house/hip-hop and popular dance songs. There were smaller, separate rooms off the main room complete with comfy seating. What attracted us to Seven was the open-air patio overlooking the Strip. It has it's own little place with couches and bar.

Nightlife Spot: Coyote Ugly
Save your money. Really. We went there our second night and I couldn't wait to get out of there. After you pay your high cover charge (which is normal in Las Vegas), you try to squeeze your way through the crowd. The entire crowd's focus is on the girls dancing on the bar (which makes sense, I guess). No one was really dancing and when I turned around all I could see was a sea of people all staring at the bar. It was so cramped in there and no one was really doing anything that we quickly left. If you're trying to relive the experience of the movie I guess this place will be a must-see for you ... but if not, save your money and try another club/bar.

They live on a huge ranch and "take turns" going to MGM and are there only for a day or so. | Hermanater Wed May 9, 2007 18:34 UTC Happy Birthday....
