Jaipur is located 265 kilometres from Delhi and 250 from Agra well contacted by Road/Rail/Air.Jaipur is named after its founder the warrior and astronomer sovereign Sawai Jai Singh II in 1727 (ruled 1688 to 1744)was the first planned city in northern India.
Jaipur’s history dates back to the 12th century when the Kachchwaha clan of Rajputs arrived at the old fort palace of Amber in the Aravalli hills. The Kachchwaha belonged to the Kshatriya, or the warrior caste of Hindus, but they traced their origins back to the sun, via Kusa who was the twin son of the god Rama.
Pink City it was colourwashed pink when prince Albert the consort of Queen Victoria of England visited Jaipur in 1883 A.D.
Jaipur the "Pink City" with its brilliant colours and exotic monuments was built by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II in 1727.It is the city of forts and palaces preserving the rich Rajputana histry & culture and is the true fusion of antiquity & modernity, excellent planning, unique architecture & colourful lifestyle. The city is also well known for its great Royal Hospitality.
Jaipur is top of the list for international and domestic tourists. In tourist traffic it is next only to Agra. Because the city has something to welcome all types of tourists heritage, adventure, wildlife, pilgrimage, etc. It interests the rich, the business traeller, the bugetwalas and the backpackers, and the city is able to provide for all of them in hordes, year after year.

Still remembering my wonderful trip to Jaipur with you, and am glad you are still using some of my photos.
You take beautiful pictures and I learned a lot about this beautiful place. Mahal means love in our vernacular...I guess in your language it means palace? =)
Amazing pictures - cant wait to see that by myslef! Great Page!
Very useful tips ... I have been to Jaipur many times, never been to the Surabhi Turban Museum.
Thanks for your B-day wishes. Although I like Taj Mahal, the pink city is always my favourite. Your pics reminded me of my last trip in 1991. Cheers.
Very informative tips. Been there a few years ago and loved it. Will surely visit the rest of your Rajasthan pages
I really like all of your pages. India seems like a great place!
