Dwarka Dhish Temple Mathura

Dwarka Dhish Temple Mathura

The main shrine embraces the images of Lord Krishna and his beloved Radha. Apart from the image of Radha-Krishna, the shrine has images of other Gods of the Hindu Pantheon. The structure of the temple has the glimpse of local art and architecture. The interiors boast the excellent work of art, brilliant carvings and exquisite paintings.
Dwarkadheesh Temple is one of the most visited shrines of Mathura. Built in 1814, Dwarkadhish Temple is said to have been constructed by Seth Gokul Das Parikh, who was the treasurer of the Gwalior Estate. He was a great devotee of Lord Krishna and erected the shrine to commemorate the deity. In the present day, Dwarikadhish Temple is administered by the followers of the Vallabhacharya sect.

Vishram Ghat Mathura

Legend says that it was here that the lord took rest after killing Kamsa.
The aarti held at the Vishram Ghat each morning & evening is not to be missed, for the little oil lamps that are floated on the river set the placid water as sparkle with myriad iridescent lights. Devotees across the world lit the lamps and make it float on the water. It is a striking sight to catch the glimpse thousands of devotees praying with devotion.
Around Vishram Ghat some temples such as the Neelkantheshwar Temple, Mukut Temple, Radha-Damodar Temple, Yamuna-Krishna Temple, Langali Hanuman Temple Narasimha temples and Murli Manohar Temple.Boat ride tour is avlable.

This South Indian style temple was built by the wealthy Seth family of Mathura in the year 1851, and is dedicated to Lord Ranganatha or Rangaji, a form of Lord Vishnu lying down on the Sesa Naga (celestial serpent). Gateway of Lord Krishna Birth Place - Mathura

Gateway of Lord Krishna Birth Place

Lord Krishna Birth Place Mathura

This is the spot where Lord Krishna was born in Mathura. A marble slab marks the original spot of birth in the Katra Keshav Deo Temple at the site. The main shrine is inconspicuous, a narrow passage leads into a small room with a raised platform to the left, beautiful pictures of the child Krishna adorn the platform and the story of his birth is both written and illustrated on the walls. A narrow set of marble steps lead to a terrace through a walled corridor, creating the effect of a prison while leading out.
