ACAPULCO, NOT QUITE SURE

The view of Acapulco Bay is spectacular

BEAUTY FROM AFAR
Acapulco, the name always makes me think of fun in the sun, cliff divers, discos, and Elvis Presley. I guess the corny but fun Elvis movie "Fun in Acapulco" made a lot of people like myself, desire to go see what this Mexican resort town was all about. Well, it is a beautiful sight from afar, but look close up and it is a very rundown and poverty stricken town. What is the center of town, is mostly deserted and not a place to visit. Where the tourists go is to the high rise fancy resorts that line the Costera, from one end, to the other. The beach is what Acapulco is all about, along with the resorts. This large bay of yellow sand beaches makes the tropical feeling come alive with palm trees and wild alcoholic concoctions. You literally spend your hours on the beach during the day time, and at night, you hit the many discos, nightclubs, bars, and dinner-dancing locations along the Costera. This is a high flying night town, and the drive behind the fun in Acapulco. The bay beckons with the blue waters, yellow sands, the shining hotels, and the green Sierra behind, making for a complete tropical getaway.

That really sounds like a romantic get-away. and I'll also leave the cliff diving to those crazy divers there...yikes. Hope your birthday finds you on another great adventure.
