A sunset gondola cruise at Lake Las Vegas was a pleasant surprise to my wife and me as we have taken gondola rides in Venice, Italy and felt it would be hard to even come close to equalling that experience. But, the beauty of the surrounding Tuscan style village and the resort hotels that lit up the evening sky as we cruised along the shoreline came close.
Yes, cruised. Smooth and quiet with the electric motor steadying our way in the water. No oars needed. Our gondolier sang Italian love songs in Italian as we sipped champagne and ate chocolates. Very romantic. My wife was shocked to find a love note from me inside a floating bottle that she retrieved. Instead of pulling the arms of a slot machine in Vegas, I pulled the cork from a champagne bottle and hit the jackpot. Amore.
