Palm trees sway, the mist of rain, the heat of the sun, and a busy city in paradise. Honolulu is a modern city with ancient ties. Highrise office buildings and hotels dot the skyline, but only a few steps away is the past. Punchbowl Crater is the remnents of a past volcano, now a military cemetery. This place of reverence is also one of the most spectacular viewpoints of Honolulu.
You can see beyond Pearl Harbor to your right and Diamond Head, above Waikiki, to your left. The pacific ocean lay straight in front of you as you gaze out over paradise. You can see past the buildings and into the heart of Hawaii, the land of the Hawaiian, and the sea. Aloha |
