SITTING AT THE ROCK OF THE BAY

by travelgourmet - last update: Mar 24, 2009

MORRO BAY

SEAGULL VIEW OF MORRO ROCK
Your first sight of Morro Bay is on Hwy 1. The imposing mountain of rock seen at the ocean's edge is the famous Morro Rock, located at the northern end of the embarcadero in Morro Bay, the hidden jewel of the south central coast of Hwy 1.

There is something for everyone in Morro Bay. Sand and sea, golfing and sailing. Shopping, dining, walking, bicyling, or just driving around to see the Blue Heron Rookery or the up close view of Morro Rock is worth the side trip on Hwy 1 or even to spend the night in this charming coastal village.

I kinda liked the 3 Stooges Larry - they do have a character all of their own, despite being ludicrously incongruous with the place. Nice page. Cheers, John.
