Claregalway Travel Guide: 5 reviews and 4 photos

Is tiny, though it has lots of new housing and a brand-spanking-new shopping area.

I went there to see the abbey, which is in a particularly pleasant setting (although not open, it being somewhat oout of season). Built by the Franciscans in 1290, it later included a leper hospital. The abbey finally ceased to exist in 1765.
