Rovaniemi was one of the stages on my trip to Nordkapp. You can see how all began here. The emphasis of this trip was Norway, but we were driving back thru Finland and Sweden. I still believe in Santa Claus and so do my daughter. She had doubt but I convinced her with the picture where I sit in Santa Claus lap. Now she believes me. |
| | On the way from Norway to Finland There is really no border between these 2 countries. You just pass the sign Finland and that's it. |
Rovaniemi is the lively capital of Finnish Lapland, located right on the Arctic Circle. With its good selection of bars and restaurants, and unspoilt surrounding nature, Rovaniemi is an excellent base from which to explore Lapland.
Whilst in Santas hometown, be sure to pay a visit to Santa Park and go souvenir shopping in Santa Claus Village, which includes Santas Post Office amongst its attractions. In addition to the exciting opportunity to meet Santa Claus himself, the most famous resident of Lapland, there is lots to do to ensure a fun-filled time for all. | | |
