Stepping back in time… the town of De Rijp.
This is one of those little places you won’t find in the travel brochure. If kicking back and enjoying the simple things in life is your idea of a nice time, De Rijp should be on your list of places to visit.

Like most smaller towns the streets roll up early, however this can give you a great opportunity to take pictures with out tons of people walking in front of you. Many of the building are historical. Even the exterior of the doctor’s office hasn’t changed.

If handcrafts or gardening are in of interest, you can spend hours enjoying the locals handiwork.

If fine unique jewelry is on your shopping list, the local goldsmith shop will most likely tickle your fancy. Wonderful one of a kinds, and you can even talk to the artist.

When the mood strikes for eating, there’s a nice little restaurant that has great food, and is very interesting. The best way to describe it is the ‘Dutch’ version of the ‘Cracker Barrel’. Almost every inch of the place has a piece of history attached to it.

There is only one warning I have for this cute town, remember where you are when you park! One wrong step, and it could put a real damper on your day.
