This is one of those places you don’t go to for the scenery or food, but for shopping it’s your best bet.

If you want a wide choice of local made items, for a fraction of the cost, Sarchí is well worth the time. You can buy something small enough to fix in your pocket, up to a full size ox cart and everything between.

For larger items, they do offer shipping. While I haven’t personally used this service I’ve met people who have, none reported any problems.

While the average person may not wish to buy a full size ox cart their wooden/leather chairs are very popular. If you are not at maximum airline limit the chairs are collapsed and boxed and met airline standards. On the other hand, most people are at limit, so shipping might be the best bet.

Because of there isn’t much to do, many tour lines offer as a rest/shopping stop with other tours.
