Bintulu - a small town
"Bintulu is a town at the mouth of the Kemena river in the state of Sarawak at the Island of Borneo. Latitude 3 degrees North and longitude 113 degrees East. Borneo is the third largest island in the world.
The name Bintulu is said to be derived from "Meta Ulau" a word from the local Melanau dialect. This means "the place where heads taken in war were smoked" and it refers to the headhunting practise at that time. The name changed to Mentulu, then Bentulau and finally Bintulu."
