Prague - An old mystic town in the East

by p_haefeli - last update: May 18, 2004

Prague was long time on my "To visit-list" !

Prague Overview
Until April 2004, I only knew Prague from different movies playing there. Mostly used in action films, the old houses and ancient streets were the perfect scenery for movies like "Mission Impossible" or "Triple X". Also "The Bourne Identity" was filmed in Prague, even though the plot should play in Zurich, Switzerland.

Since I liked this special atmosphere in the movies very much and also my friends could only say good things about Prague, I put the Czech capital at the top of my list with destinations to travel to.

The time has come this spring when three friends and me decided to celebrate the end of our exams in a special city. Since Prague was not only on my list, we quickly came to the conclusion, that Prague will be the town to explore and, of course, to have party.

An old mystic town

So, in April 2004, four guys travelled for some days to Prague. We didn't get disappointed at all!

Me personally, I was very amazed how beautiful this town is. Fortunately, Prague is not that big, so you could discover the city by feet and enjoy all these small alleys and lovely houses.

Sometimes, when you look at old buildings or bridges, you kind of feel like hundred years back in time. It's really not that hard to imagine how life was before our time.
Powder Gate

You will get interessted in architecture

When you walk through the streets of Prague, you automatically are fascinated about the great architecture there. You learn a lot about Czech history only by watching.

There is a great variety of different styles and eras. Powder Gate, Castle, Jewish Cemetery, different Synagogues, Opera...

I'm sure you will like it!!!!

The food was terrible. We ordered duck and the lamb...expecting to experience czech food. What we got was food that had obviously been in the oven allday, dry, tasteless and a major disappointment. This was the low point of an otherwise wonderful visit

3 of us went to this club, It was a major disapointment. It cost a fortune for a drink and the girl to guy ratio was terrible. Just across the road from here is Atlas go there instead
