Charlotte Amalie - St Thomas

Charlotte Amalie - Downtown St Thomas
I have lived in Charlotte Amalie the last several years. I used to live in Seattle but have found island life to be more relaxing. St Thomas is the most populated of all the 3 US Virgin Islands. There is also St Croix and St John.

St Thomas features DOWNTOWN which is Charlotte Amalie and then a small hamlet in the East called RED HOOK. To the NORTH is lush jungle and tropical vegetation and I recommend if you want to se the local scene, try HULL BAY in addition to the popular tourist beach MEGANS BAY. MEGAN'S was voted one of the most 10 beautiful beaches in the world by National Geographic and I have to say, it is nice, but some of the beaches in St John and especially Coki Beach on the East end of st Thomas, rival it's beauty in my opinion.
Hawkness Beach- St John

St John

No trip to the USVI is without a side trip to St John. Take the public ferry for $6 out of Red Hook and then grab a safari cab to one of the beaches on the Northside of St John. Hawksnest and Cinnamon Bay are my favorites. Trunk Bay is nice but loaded with tourists. Cinnamon also has ammeties, but the real luxuries, like food stands and life guards are only at Trunk Bay. Cinnamon does has showers, rest rooms and a restaurant and Hawkness has nothing at all--but what a bueatiful beach. You make the call depending on your needs--but the key is---just get over here to see this stuff. You'll be completely glad you did. It will make your trip.
