Under construction--Much more to come | Public beach / Playa Del Carmen |
Playa Del Carmen is an excellent home base for a stay in the Yucatan Pennisula. There are many all-inclusvie resorts within a short distance, many hotels in Playa to fit any budget from exclusive to $30.00 rooms with no A/C. You can take package tours or travel on your own to such destinations as, Cozumel, Cancun, Mayan ruins at Coba, Tulum, and Chichen Itza. What ever your interests, party towns, jungle villages, or great snorkling and diving, this is a great destination. |
| | Shopping 5th Ave. in Playa Del is the main shopping row. The roads are all under construction and probably will be for a while. I didnt see anybody doing anything real quick. When finished it will be quaint. All brick. The shops at the north end of 5th are a little nicer, and get tackier as you walk south. The prices also go down. Many bars and restaurants to stop at along the way. |
| | Relaxing with a cold one One of my favorite places, is a little bar the sits right on the waters edge in Playa Del. Cheap beer, excellent quacamole and chips, and the most fantastic view. It just doesn't get any better than this. The name of the place is Paraiso Beach Club. Just walk the beach. You will find it, or some other place like it. |

bobbyclog Fri Oct 2, 2009 14:45 UTC I read your pages with interest. My wife and I leave on Monday to Playa del Carmen and your information was very useful. If you could pick 2 of the best things to see what would you suggest. Any other tips would also be welcome. Thanks Bob | jkkv Thu Mar 2, 2006 22:06 UTC I've really enjoyed your pictures and notes. I am planning a trip next November with my daughter, and we'll definately check out the sites you recommended. Thanks! | egglady Fri Feb 17, 2006 03:41 UTC Hi David. My friend and I are leaving next Friday for Play, so we'll have a cold one for you then :). Also, could you please tell me any good jungle tours for monkeys, etc. Thanks. Lauren | notfam Fri Jan 20, 2006 19:20 UTC How , if I stay around Playa Del Carmen do I manage to get to Tulum on my own so I can take my own sweet time?? Or even Chichen Itza? The tours don't give you enough time but is it safe to rent a car and go on your own?? |
