I went to LP with 2 Thai friends I met in Vang Vieng. Shop with Thai in Laos wii bring you a lot of advantage because most Thai can speak Lao.
Laos has very close connection to Thailand. Most of the Laotian watch Thai movies, they prefer Baht, even the language are almost the same.

Excellent insight into Luang Prabang. I especially liked your tip on the night market. Lack of nightlife? That's fine by me; I prefer good food over having a place to dance.
