"Nick's Vienna Page" a Vienna Travel Page by Ackers

My Girlfriend Jane and I fancied a Euro city break in the late autumn/early winter. Being gluhwein fans, we thought the best place to go for this would be Austria or Germany, so we plumped for Vienna.
Ok, I admit it's a bit odd to base your entire holiday decision on availablity of a particular drink, but what is better that the spiciness of a piping hot gluhwein to warm you up on a freezing cold winter's day?
Seriously though, I imagine Vienna is great any time of year. The Opera is a must-see, as is a horse-drawn carriage ride around the city centre. You can't do it all in 48 hours, but you can fit in quite a bit as all the best sights are pretty close together
